Truman Capote was born in 1924 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His father was a salesman. His parent divorced when he was four. As a lonely child, Capote taught himself to read and write before he entered school. He began writing when he was ten. When he was eleven, his mother committed suicide. He started writing every day for three hours. In 1942 he graduated in New-York. When he was seventeen, he ended his formal education and began a two-year job at the New Yorker. Between 1943 and 1946, Capote wrote short fiction. It was the beginning of his writer’s life. He died in 1984, aged 59 years in Los Angeles.
